Terms of Service
The agreement that governs your use of margininfo. Plain-English headings, lawyer-grade body, read whichever fits the moment.
Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of margininfo's products, websites, and APIs (collectively, the "Service"). By creating a workspace, signing into an existing one, or accessing the API, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and any entity you represent.
If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company to these Terms.
The Service
margininfo is an agentic profit platform for commerce operators. It connects to your commerce stack, computes true contribution profit, runs investigations to explain what moved your numbers, and proposes optimizations. Some Service functionality requires that you connect third-party systems ("Connected Services") and that you grant the scopes described at connection time.
We work hard to keep the Service available and performant. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features (with reasonable notice for material changes), but we will not materially reduce the core functionality you paid for during your current term.
Your account
Each workspace has at least one Owner. The Owner is responsible for configuring roles, inviting members, approving sub-processors, and authorizing connectors. Roles include Owner, Admin, Analyst, Approver, and Billing Admin; permissions are documented in your workspace settings.
You are responsible for keeping authentication credentials confidential and for activity that occurs under your account. We strongly recommend enabling multi-factor authentication on every seat. Notify us promptly at security@margininfo.com of any unauthorized access.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to violate any law; infringe anyone's rights; reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract training data; introduce malicious code; circumvent rate limits, guardrails, or human-approval gates; or process data you do not have the right to process. You will not use the Service in safety-critical contexts.
You agree to use the agent and any automated action it proposes consistent with your own internal policies. The human-approval gate is provided for your protection, disabling it does not transfer responsibility for the actions taken.
Payment, plans, and credits
Plans are billed monthly or annually in advance through Stripe, in the currency listed at signup. Each plan includes a credit allowance that powers deep investigations, recomputes, and simulations; viewing dashboards is always free.
Unused credits roll forward for one billing period. Overage credits, when consumed, are billed at the rate published on the Pricing page in effect when the credit was consumed.
All fees are exclusive of taxes. Late invoices accrue interest at the lesser of 1.5% per month or the maximum permitted by law. Failure to pay may result in suspension of write actions and, after 30 days' notice, suspension of the workspace.
Intellectual property
You retain ownership of your data and your derivative artifacts (reports, exports, simulations). margininfo retains ownership of the Service, the models, the orchestration, and the documentation.
You grant us a limited licence to process your data solely to provide the Service to your workspace. We do not train shared models on customer data.
Warranties and disclaimers
We warrant that the Service will materially conform to its public documentation. Beyond that, the Service is provided "as is" and we disclaim all other warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
The agent's investigations and recommendations are decision-support, not financial, tax, legal, or investment advice. You are responsible for the actions you take based on them.
Limits of liability
To the extent permitted by law, margininfo's aggregate liability under these Terms will not exceed the fees you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Neither party will be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, or data, even if advised of the possibility. These limits apply notwithstanding the failure of any limited remedy and survive termination.
Termination
You may cancel your workspace at any time from billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not pro-rate refunds for partial periods unless required by law.
We may suspend or terminate the Service for material breach of these Terms, payment failure, prolonged inactivity, or a security risk. On termination, we will make a copy of your workspace data available for export for 30 days, after which we will delete it in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
General
These Terms, together with the DPA, the Privacy Policy, and any order form, are the entire agreement between us. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
We may update these Terms; we will give at least 30 days' notice for material changes. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
